We guide on Beaver, Bull Shoals, Norfork and Little Red tailwaters in
Arkansas for trout and the King's River in Arkansas for smallmouth bass. We
guide all of Beaver, all of Norfork, the upper 48 miles of Bull Shoals, the
upper 20 miles of the Little Red and about 24 miles of the King's River. There
are some smallmouth rivers in Missouri that we fish. some are wade only and some
we use the Hyde. On low water in the smallie streams, we may use a canoe,
pontoons or
wade.
We can only accommodate 2 clients in a boat. If you have a larger group we
will work with other guides.
How much do you charge?
We charge $350.00 for 1 or 2 people for a full day which is at least 7-8
hours. That includes drinks and snacks, a shore lunch, photography and flies or
lures. We also have half day trips and charge $225.00 which includes drinks and
snacks, flies, lures and photography. We are trying to keep costs down, but some
things are beyond our control. Prices are subject to change at any time.
Our Photo and Sight-seeing trips are $200.00 for a full day and $150.00 for a
half day and include the same as our fishing trips. Camera equipment is not
included.
A 50% deposit is required to hold a date.
If you cancel within 10 days of the trip, the deposit is non-refundable. You may
use the deposit to schedule another date within six(6) months if it is necessary
to cancel your trip. Gratuity not included. All prices are subject to change.
How can I pay?
We accept cash, check, MasterCard, Visa and Discover cards.
We can supply rods and some waders. Your flies, leaders and tippet are
included when you fly fish and lures are included when spin fishing.
We have Sage and Orvis fly rods and Mitchell spinning gear and Orvis
breathable waders. We guide out of a 2003 Hyde low profile drift boat. We also
have three inflatable pontoons and a canoe.
We do use spinning rods also, but NO BAIT! Some of the other
guides we use are fly fishing only.
I want to take some fish home, is that OK?
Trophy trout and all bass are catch and release, no exceptions.
We will take photos and measurements for you to get a fiberglass mount. If you
insist, we will allow a meal's worth of smaller stocker trout to be kept where
regulations permit, but prefer catch and release. Again, some of
the other guides we use are FF only and catch and release.
It depends on water levels, but generally between 5 and 8 miles per day.
We usually stop and wade fish the shoals to really cover the water but that
depends on the water levels. The tailwaters’ levels can rise 8-10 feet in a
day depending on generation. Some people don’t want to wade and that is OK.
Trout fishing is good year round, but I like the spring and fall best because
of the weather. Some people can not handle the cold of winter or heat of summer.
Smallmouth fishing is best in the late spring and early summer. The bass really
turn-on when the water temperature hits 60 degrees. Water levels are the best
for floating also.
